The weather right now feels grim.

It's like I'm watching the movie "The Road", but it's out my window and cold inside. (LC)

  1. I like to combat those days with a healthy dose of Doug Stanhope. Though, it's not the perfect cure. Stanhope is like chemotherapy or radiation treatment for cancer in that the treatments are often accompanied by nasty side effects like nausea, hair loss, constipation, etc. On those days described above, when a person might need saving from one's self, Doug's comedy is effective in counteracting the doom and gloom of the hard winter months, but unfortunately, the depression and fatigue symptoms are replaced by, arguably, equally upsetting feelings of ire, contempt, and vitriol. Hedberg or Cosby might be a better medicine. Still funny stuff though, and I'm glad I learned from Michael Vick and was able to give Stanhope a second chance after initially being put off to him due to his association with Girls Gone Wild and accordingly dewshy behavior. As for The Road, it looks great, but probably isn't a good cure for the winter blues. Looking forward to watching The Road summer '12!
